This is the most recent one. Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, published by Atari. Over the years the software I've used for games includes 3d Studio Max, Lightwave 3d, Photoshop, Painter, DeBabelizer Pro, Paint Shop Pro, Deluxe Paint, Pro Motion, Raydream Studio and Corel Photo Paint.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, published by Microprose, Hasbro and Infogrames. Now they were epics. It grew from Chris calling me one afternoon and asking me if it was possible to do a coaster track and some cars. I said I'd try it out in a now defunct 3d package instead of pixel pushing it, which was the way we used to do things. Things just snowballed from there, and three years later Rollercoaster Tycoon was released which went on to sell incredible numbers, and with rather more than the original two rollercoasters! On a personal note I'd just like to make it known that in my personal dictionary there is a photo of Chris Sawyer next to the word 'integrity'.

You can take a look at the level of detail in some of the 3d models below.

This is the original Transport Tycoon, published by Microprose all those years ago. That little bungalow on the left with the brown roof is my father's house. The one behind it is Chris' old house. The single biggest thrill of my career was when I was told I'd be doing the graphics for this game. It was my first freelance contract.
These last two images represent the old pixel pushed way of doing things. Some of these images went out when I was first touting for work as a freelancer over a decade ago.
